Let me start off by saying I don't care for General Clark. I see him as a disingenuous opportunist with questionable character. That said, he can still be right some of the time, and regarding one of his comments about John McCain, he is in fact so.
General Clark was quoted as saying that riding in a Navy plane doesn't qualify one to be president. He is right, and anyone with intellectual honestly would admit the same thing. In fact, John Kerry's military service, though honored, was discredited as a criterion for making him qualified to be president. Though one piloted a boat and the other an airplane, both were in enemy territory and both took fire. Thus, to be consistent, if military service was not enough alone to qualify John Kerry, how can it be enough to qualify John McCain?
The answer, giving proper respect to honesty and fair play, is that no matter how honorable a person's military career, that alone does not qualify him to be president of the United States. John McCain should be honest and admit that, as should people who support him. If Senator McCain plans on winning the election, he had better offer more than his military service.

The US killed 2 MILLION innocent people in Vietnam. Did McCain ever think about who he was hitting with those bombs that were released from under his wing? If he didn't think about it - what does he think about and why would I trust him?
Also, MANY POW's, particularly non-officers, were killed in Vietnam AFTER capture. McCain was definitely kept alive in part because of who his Dad was........
