As part of on excessive four day celebration to highlight the fact that Nancy Pelosi was selected by her democrat colleagues to be Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Pelosi is reportedly going to attend a Catholic Mass at Trinity University on January 3rd.
Mrs. Pelosi, an ardent abortion proponent, and against any restrictions of any type, is by her active political support of abortion de facto excommunicated from the Catholic Church. Thus she is ineligible to receive Holy Communion. She is also in support of gay marriage, which goes against Catholic teaching. Trinity University, historically tied to the Catholic Church in spite of supporting liberal organizations and politicians, is Mrs. Pelosi's alma mater.
Any Catholic reading this should be outraged that political posturing of candidates, and pandering by a university, is made to appear more important than our faith. Trinity University should be ashamed of itself, and should immediately and courageously correct the problem by prohibiting Mrs. Pelosi from receiving communion, just as several Churches did around the country when John Kerry was running for President as another pro-abortion "Catholic." You simply cannot be Catholic and Pro-Choice; they are mutually exclusive.
